MACRO TRENDS in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture are in favor of N2’s technology. The cost of renewable energy production is steadily decreasing, favoring decentralized power generation and self-consumption. More and more countries introduce environmental incentives to enable and accelerate the transition to a greener agriculture.

N2 Applied is in an advanced stage of technology development, and in the early phases of market development. We currently focus on the demonstration and verification of our technology under local farm conditions in different markets.


Within a few years, we expect N2’s technology to be widely adopted.

For operations manager Friedrich Möller, reducing ammonia emissions means business:

“As capacity grew, we were not able to handle the amount of ammonia in our digestate. We were spending a lot of money to get rid of excess ammonia – or risked having to pay high gate fees for the disposal of the digestate.
Now we see it as a resource that we can capture and upgrade and make valuable organic nutrient products. With N2 Applied’s unit, we are able to turn the ammonia into a fertilizer component and make money from what used to be a bottleneck.
Eliminating the cost of stripping out the ammonia is of huge value for our business. But the best news is: We can increase capacity without polluting.”

 “With all our focus on efficient meat production, handling the huge volume of manure has mostly been considered a burden. 

The manure contains Ammonia-N, but being a volatile component, it is all too easily lost as a plant nutrient. The key is binding ammonia-N with Nitrate-N to produce stable fertilizer at the farm – turning a natural resource from waste to value in the process.
